Nutrition for Rabbits, Guinea Pigs, Chinchillas and Rodents

Many diseases that we see at the clinic are due to inadequate nutrition in our rodent species. Some of the diseases we see are due to diets that are too high in calcium, carbohydrates and protein.
One thing to watch for in diets that are meant for herbivores (rabbits, guinea pigs etc.) is food that contains nuts, seeds and dried fruit. These foods are not good for the animals’ digestive tracts and we see many problems with pets that eat these sorts of foods.
After a lot of research we have chosen to carry Oxbow food. Oxbow is a company well known by exotic animal veterinarians for their quality food. You can check out our link to the oxbow site to learn more.
